I'm looking at getting back into photography, but have to start from the ground up. I used to shoot canon, but got rid of all of my equipment. I would love to get a Canon but will consider Nikon and learn all over again. I've noticed that Canon's lenses are cheaper but the bodies are more expensive. As where Nikon's bodies are cheaper and the lenses are more expensive than Canon's. Is this a fair assessment?
I'm looking adorama.com at the refurbished Nikon D80 and the Canon 30D. I have no problem with refurbished goods, so that's not the issue. The prices are very comparable, so I will take any and all stances on this decision.
I would love to have nice glass either way, but it seems to me its better to buy a nice body and have cheap lenses since they are bought more over time. Please shed some light on this because I am very torn. I love Canon's metering system and the functionality of their cameras. Any time I have picked up a Nikon I have felt lost.
So please help me with insight on the pros and cons of each.
Thanks in advance for the advice,
