As it says really. Want to make a portable backdrop so need some sturdy stands that will extend fairly high too.

Why don't you go to ebay to search the availability of such item?

I made mine out of PVC. The design I used called for glue between the pipe fittings, but I wanted it portable so I didn't glue them. Also, I cut the horizontal and vertical pipes to different lengths so I could make it smaller and more narrow if I wanted. At full dimensions, my backdrop stand is 10' high and 12' wide. It holds 2 full-length canvas backdrops. I also cut in holes along the top, vertical pipe so I could put different top lights, like a hair light and backdrop lights. Works well.

Try searching the 'Net for DIY photo backdrop stands. I don't recall where I got my plans. I think diy.net, but not exactly sure.
