I took some pictures of my sister-in-law's wedding and it is a long story but I ended up using the "auto" setting on my Nikon D50 as it was very dark on top of the riverboat where the ceremony took place. (Yes, we are a bunch of rednecks down here)

Anyway as you might imagine when I try and lighten the pictures all sorts of "noise" shows up making the pictures look very grainy. I have on old PS (5.5) as my editer. Is there some mask or some tool I can use to reduce the noise in these photos or am I just stuck?

Thanks in advance...

You could try neatimage - it's a pretty good tool as these things go.

Failing that, try converting to B/W - you may even find that the result is more pleasing, regardless of the noise reduction.

It might be handy to see an example??
