I'm getting really sick of how hard I'm finding it to get the damn pictures from my camera onto my pc
I'd tried a connection using the supplied wire from camera to pc without the driver and eos application that cannon provides (no luck)
I loaded the cd with the canon utility, (sometimes it worked, but slow, hard to connect or to get the photo's to show)
after taking some advice from members of this forum I bought a 52-in-1 card reader off ebay. I know nothing about these devices, I picked one which looked like reasonable quality, but it wasn't expensive at all (none seem to be on ebay) no driver disc included....... and no action from any of the two types of cards that I can insert. I have a power light and thats about all
the 'autoplay' kicks in if I leave it for a few minutes, but after about a minute or two of searching it draws a blank. The card reader also seems to stall my pc a little, causing lots of 'egg-timer' action and a refusal of 'my computer' to show if there's anything on the 'removable drive' as it calls it
I don't have a 'specific' make on the card reader, so I can't search for patches or drivers, can anyone help me ??

I'm far from being a computer expert, but in my experience with card readers, you simply plug into the computer and the computer finds it as new hardware. If this has not happened for you, my guess is it may be more of a computer problem than card reader or camera software issue. Does your computer have other quirks at times that are none digital related? What OS are you using? Is it Mac or PC based? These are all areas that could lead to finding resolution. |

carpetpaul Hi
it may depend on your computer or how old it is. If its Windows 98 or earlier then you will need a driver for sure. Most modern PCs are plug and play. It might pay you to talk to friends to see it plays on their computers. |
