Finally, I am 95% comitted to getting a digital SLR. I've refrained in the past as I've always wanted to see what the next camera to come along will offer, but I could just do that forever. I've decided to go with an EOS 40D, but am struggling to decide on lenses so would like other peoples' opinions on my thoughts.
The first combo I am thinking of is an EF 24-105 F4 L IS paired with a 17-40 F4 L.
The other possible combo is an EF-S 17-55 F2.8 IS paired with an EF-S 10-22 f3.5-4.5.
There seem to be advantages with either combo, especially with the first in that when (if) I upgrade to full frame these could be used, however the second pair has wide angle appeal and a 2.8 apperature on the walkabout lens.
They seem to be 4 good lenses and the ideal situation is the first pair on a full frame SLR but that would mean waiting for whatever replaces the 5D.
Anyone got any strong opinions or advice? |
