I have a relative that wants me to print them a 20x28 from a D70, and I know that is way too big. Is there any way I can upsize this picture in photoshop CS, I've heard you can do it with CS2 but I haven't bought it yet.

Go to Oneonesoftware and download the demo for Genuine Fractals, or go to alienskin and get the demo for Blowup. I think both will do it without watermarking during the 30day demo period. With either of these, you can resize quite a bit without artifacts (ie ~1000%)

There are some incremental tricks that you can use but I might recommend using an interpolation package as mentioned above.

There are a number of ways to do it.

Photoshop CS has an Image Resize option. You can get excellent results with it. Google up resize methods in photoshop. You'll find a few that will step your through a step resize. ie. Resize 10 to 20% at a time. After various steps you'll be at the final size you want. Try this as it's free.

There are also various resize options out there. The one I use is Genuine Fractals 5 from On One Software.

None of these methods will work miracles. In other words, don't expect to take a 640x480 image to a 20x30 print at 300dpi. The better the image the better the chances to upsize. To give you an example check out this old post here.

It was about scaling. The program used was made by Extensis. Extensis was bought by On One and now part of Genuine Fractals.
