I'm fascinated by IR photography. I was always under the impression that it was done with an IF film, however, I keep hearing about IF filters.
Does this mean that IR photos can be taken on a normal film using an IR filter? |

As I understand it, (not shooting IR myself) an IR filter blocks all the non-IR light that comes through the lens...IR film captures the IR range of light. You can't take IR pictures without IR film, the filter aids is like a UV filter that does not affect the appearence of the image but rather prevents contamination from unwanted light. |
