Oh HAPPY DAY! My husband agreed to let me go ahead and order $1000 worth of lights/stands/etc.. from Alien Bees. WHOO WHOO!!!!

They guarantee to ship within 2 days.... so.... i should have them by....

Doesn't matter... it's too long to wait. I have been dreaming of having studio equipment for YEARS. I can't contain myself! I'm just going to burst!

Congrats! I'm in the same boat... waiting for my delivery of White Lightnings (an Alien Bee's sister company). My Vagabond 2 had been on back order for several weeks and they called today and said that "Voilla!" the Vagabond is back in stock. Won't this be so much fun! d :)

Let me know when yours arrive. Mine will probably take a few days because I didn't pay for any expedited shipping.

The bees arrived today, just as I was leaving for work! So, it was great but awful because I had to wait. As fate would have it, when I finally had time to play with my new lights my children were completely uncooperative!

So, what to do? I set up the lights and placed a small cardboard box on a step ladder then placed a basketball on top of the box and a ratty nerf football on top of the basketball to get some shadows and contours to shoot.

I think I have the basics figured out. Hopefully, tomorrow my kids will be more helpful.

Mine arrived on Wed! Had them delivered to work because the shipping charges were considerably less on a commerical delivery vs. home delivery. I bought the largest softbox and am regretting it. It's too large for me to handle alone. Can't attach it to the monolight without assistance. perhaps that's the case with all large soft boxes? Anyway, I posted my first shots in the people section. I also bought two of the ebay ghetto slaves and they worked like a CHARM! The money I saved on those ebay slaves is the best deal I've gotten so far! All the gals in my photography club are very happy with their 300.00 Pocket Wizards. I'm pretty excited about my 20.00 16 channel ghetto slave. It fired 50/50 times.
