I've been away from these forums for a while because I've been crazy busy "hanging my shingles" so to speak, while in the mean time holding down my full time job. To say life has been hectic is an understatement, but having just completed my fist six months as a "working" photographer, I'm happy to say it has been rewarding. I do miss being able to shoot for fun though and I do miss the community of this forum. However, now that I have settled down a bit I think I should continue to be somewhat regular (don't even think about the pun here) again.
So what am I doing? Mainly portrait work - schools, couples, babies, engagements and (gasp!) weddings. Of the lot I will confess a disdain for wedding photography. I will do them kicking and screaming and people are calling me (I have six lined up now) but as an event, wedding photography is by far the most stressful, but the second most profitable behind school portraits (so for now I must live with the beast).
My plan is to be full-time in a year or so (big risk for me) but I REALLY want to do this, so...
Anyway, enough of my essay...just saying hi and I'm back.
Oh yeah... here's what I did on Saturday...

I too have been lax in my participation - welcome back!
I hope to once again participate more often. |
