Pilot.... you can send all your Canon stuff to me when you get your new Nikon gear. I'd hate for it to collect dust! And it will go to a good cause at my house! ;)
I'd go for the D200 if I was switching to Nikon. Why? Because it's the best Nikon has to offer currently.
Have I ever switched? Nope. Love my Lseries lenses for my 30D. My two pro-idols also shoot Canon (Bambi Cantrell and Jerry Ghionnis). 5D and the MarkII. Tough to beat that Canon 70-200 f.2.8/l/IS lens. :)
Best of luck in your decision! No matter what gear you use, 90% of it has to do with the person operating the equipment, not the equipment itself.

I went from Canon to Nikon but not digital. I had a AE-1 for many years and in the late '90's I decided to go with a modern (at that time) AF system. After looking at different models I decided on the Nikon system.
One of the main factors that influenced me was the backwards compatability of the lens system. I sold my AE-1 and got a FM2n to go with the newer F5. All my lenses will work on both cameras (except the G Series) as well as the newer Digitals should I decide to upgrade again. |
