Whenever I print at home on my EpsonR1800, I can select the size of the print in "inches"...13" x 19", 4" x 6", etc. in my software for the printer.
When I put that jpg on a disc and carry to Sam's for a "20" x 24" print,
the attendant shows me that the image is going to be cropped on their printer.
Can anyone please "very simply" explain how I can size the image on my computer and then put it on the disc to take to be printed???
Many thanks in advance.............Bert |

Open up your image editing software and crop to the size you need then save it to the disk. Or, leave it in the full image size and the printer software wherever you will be printing will assist you in the crop with the correct aspect ratio. Is this what you are asking for?

The examples you give have different aspect ratios so either your printer software is cropping without you realising, there are white areas of paper around the image, or the image is being distorted to fit.
Using your own example of 4x6, if that is scaled up to 20" on the short axis the longer one must be 30", not 24" in order to fit the entire image to the paper without distortion or cropping. |
