Could anyone tell me what would be causing this?
It only appears when I use an F/stop of 5.6 or greater and it doesn’t matter what lens or what focus length I am using.
I'm using a D200

Little dust on the sensor. remove the lens and select shutter priority and a long shutter speed, hit the shutter and blow it off as the mirror is up and shutter open. |

Not with your mouth by the way, buy a blower from your local shop, shouldn't cost very much at all. |

DO NOT do what wb4h suggests. Using his method, the sensor is actually CHARGED when you start screwing around with it.
The D200 has a mirror lockup in the Setup menu for cleaning the sensor. Use that instead. |

I purchased one of the cleaning kits, and LOVE it. Well worth the money. Considerably less than visible dust. The first time cleaning the sensor was nerve racking, but now it's a piece of cake... |
