D80 Mirror Lock.
First time i have taken any attention to the Mirror Lock.

I see mine is set to On, when trying to change it to off, It just goes back to On.

I thought the idea of the mirror lock was for cleaning, any one advise.
Thanks

1. Make sure the camera is OFF
2. Remove the lens
3. Turn the camera on
4. Navigate menu until Mirror Lock Up is displayed
5. Press Yes (OK)
6. Press shutter release - mirror will now lock up
7. Clean sensor (carefully!)
8. Switch camera off
9. Re-attach lens

Make sure you have a well-charged EN-EL3e installed. I have an EN-EL3e "equivalent" battery and the mirror on my D80 will not lock up when it's installed, even though it's new, well charged and works perfectly in all other respects. I can only achieve mirror lock-up with a genuine Nikon battery fitted.

Hi.
Thanks for the explination, I understand the purpose & workings of the mirror Lock up, but i cannot understand why there is an option Off, by pressing it nothing happens. when ever i visit the menu mirror Lock Up its always set to Yes..
