I found a link to this company over at photo.net..... http://lifepixel.com/
They apparently remove the "hot mirror" filter from the sensor and replace it with another for IR photography at visible light speeds.
just curious if anyone has tried out the service and if they think it was worth it? |

Very swift service, and excellent communication...It seems the folks over at LifePixel run a tight ship...I feel it was worth every penny...All camera functions work properly, and it does exactly what they say it will...No more filters, no more long exposures, and no more tripod ! :) |

Great to hear! Now I just need a Second camera body for the conversion! lol
I'd really love do see if this conversion could be done to a digital camcorder....such as the canon XL1 or XL2 series....I've always wanted to make an Infrared Sci-fi film! |
