It’s a holiday season and I thought that it will be interesting to know what photography equipment people here usually take on holidays. I mean everything from a camera bag to lenses. What cameras (if you have more than one of course), lenses you prefer to take with you. Some other equipment? To put it easy, what is essential on holidays for a photographer? |

I would think you want something light enough to carry, but enough of a kit to get the photos you want. This can be difficult to do...
I would suggest a good all around lens, and a fast standard prime if the all around was not a f2.8. Maybe also a telephoto.
I don't know your camera but I have a 20D. I would take:
Lens suggestion 1:
18-55 f3.5-f5.6
50 or 85mm f1.8 OR Sigma 30mm f1.4 (depending on your style)
70-200 or 300 telephoto
Lens Suggestion 2:
17-55 f2.8 IS
70-200 or 300 telephoto.
YOu should also have a tripod and a polarising filter. Of course lots of memory cards and batteries / chargers. External flash (580ex or 430ex)
Put it all in a lowepro backpack like the micro trekker 200 or a over the shoulder bag of some kind. |

Thanks, Andre. I haven't had a chance to escape from my work yet, but i'm planning to take a holiday in the near future. Everything is ready and i hope for beautiful landscapes. |
