First I asked when they are going to produce more sc-28 cables since I have had one on backorder since march. His reply was "they are trying to phase them out". they want to have it so everyone uses the wireless features found with the commanders like the D70s for example.

I then asked him when they were going to catch up with the large amount of orders of 18-200 VR lenses. His reply was "Never. Nikon and Ritz Camera want to keep it at the price level it is now, if they get them in stock and fill the orders then the demand will go down and so will the price".

So they are purposley not filling orders on the 18-200 VR lens. What I think they dont understand is. Nobody will order this from us if they have to wait 6 or more months to get one. So they are losing money anyway. But who am I to judge what a big company like Nikon does.

PS
I also forgot to mention I asked him if Nikon planned on making any full frame sensors. His reply was "No. Not until we can come up with a costworth way to get light to every pixel placement". he said something about other full frame digital sensors show the black edges in the corners because they cant get light to them. Which is why they use the 1.5 crop facotor so it essentially cuts it off.

Steve

not being sarcastic but if you really want to get SC-28 WWW.Onecall.com have one in stock or maybe other site too

I know you work with ritz camera but I think Ritz Camera doesn't have enough choices or stock on their own so you might wanna check some of the big Camera Company like B&H, Adorama and others too

cheers

I wouldn't be so much worried about a full frame sensor, but the ability to use high speed sync with flash, suuure would be nice. I hate that I can't use TTL if I want to sync higher than 1/500th.

And Nikon dealers wonder why people are switching to Canon. Which is what I'm gonna do when I replace my D70. They dont want to make lenses and accessories for people who already have Nikon bodies, screw em. If Tamron would make a 50mm 1.8 or 35mm 2.0 I wouldnt care if Nikon ever made a lens again. Just glad I dont have alot invested in lenses. Looks like the 30D is in my future.

Reeeally. I didn't know that. I had planned on picking it up eventually, but that might happen a little sooner than expected.

Yep...Custom Setting e1:Flash Sync Speed Setting - select 1/250s(Auto FP)

Note: Requires use of CLS compatable flash, ie: SB-800, SB-600 or SB-R200 and doesn't work with on-board pop-up flash. If shutter speed is below 1/250s then the flash functions normally. Once shutter speed goes above 1/250s the flash will automatically switch to FP mode where it performs some fancy tricks to get proper TTL flash exposures at faster shutter speeds. As far as I know there is no limit to how fast the shutter can be in FP mode.

True. However the efficacy of the flash drops like a 50 ton boulder.

Note the wild drop in power after 1/250 for the D200.
