Hi everyone,
Im off on holiday soon and want to try my hand at night time photography. Can any one please provide me with some pointers-such as shooting modes, ISO etc.
I have got myself a tripod and remote control for my canon 400D (28-135 IS USM).
Thanks

Depending on how dark it it, try manual bulb mode and use the tripod and release. There's no textbook answer, like sunny 16, to what your settings should be as it's going to depend on what you are shooting and what ambient light you have. |

you're off to a good start with a solid tripod and a cable release. Here's a link for a Kodak publication that is a fantastic guideline for existing light and night photography: http://www.kodak.com/cluster/global/en/consumer/products/techInfo/ac61/
For cityscapes, I like to shoot at dusk and allow the available light to hold some details in the image. Experiment and bracket to learn what types of effects are possible. Have fun!
