Senior Newbie from Florida

Hello all,

I have been lurking for a couple of months now and just did my first post to learn how. I have played with photography for years and years but have never done much more than snapshots.

I realized long ago that I do not have that innate ability or "photographic eye", so I hope to learn as much as I can, especially about composition. NEM has motivated me extensively. Unfortunately, we don't have many red barns here in west central Florida. (But I do have a Lab)

Had a digital one step up from point and shoot (Kodak DC4800) but wanted to use some of my Nikon glass from my 8008 so just got a D70 with the 18-70 zoom. Am learning about digital exposure, histograms and the multitude of options on a DSLR.

I have Photoshop Elements 4 but would like to do as much as possible in the camera and then minimal touch up if necessary.

I will appreciate any comments, suggestions or editing of any of my posted images.

Glad you've come out from the shadows.... and into the light of Phototakers. It's a fun community and you will grow immensely, though I find that when you jump in, it is much more enjoyable than standing along the sidelines!
