I am looking into buying a canon 30D and their prices are really good... I know I know... when too good to be true, bad! But, I think I heard good things about them in the past?
Anyone know?
Or... what is the best, reliable/ affordable place to get canon 30D nowadays?
THANKS!!!! |

Be careful! I recently tried to purchase one of those 30d's at a great price (like $650). They took my information and verified my order. After two weeks I called their customer service department only to find that they were "still" on backorder and they didn't know when they'd be in. Funny they never mentioned that when I placed the order. Fortunately I was able to cancel the order without too much hassle.
So I tried again from two other dealers (all in NYC) and got the same response. "On backorder" even though their websites all stated that it was "in stock."
Eventually I found a reputable dealer and was told that the "cheap" prices were for a Canon 30D with a plastic case that was only rated for a max. of a 13 ounce lens. The titanium or metal case was substantially more expensive which is what I ended up purchasing.
I don't know if the 30D actually comes as an inexpensive version with a plastic case or some of these dealers use it as a "bait-and-switch" scheme where they get you to call because of the price and then talk you into real thing?
Anyway, as I stated.... be careful. I couldn't find anyone who had a "real 30D" for one of those great prices. Hope this helps you! |

Sounds like the "reputable" dealer is yanking your chain.
