A few days ago, I saw a landscape, full of hills, and with this heavy fog hanging over them.. I tried to take some shots of it but it turned out 'plain'...gray and plain... :(
What do I have to do to get the fog appeals? And give the pic a soul? Is there otherway than using some particular filters?
Looking forward for the help!

Thank you!

Maybe a little post processing would help them, could you post a few examples?

I encounter decent fog scenes almost never, but when I have, I haven't captured any I like myself either.

Helps if the fog is backlit in some way, gives it some more translucency.

Be sure to remove any filter you have on your lens (other than a plain clear protective). Most UV filters try to eliminate "haze" which is a major component of "fog". Also, fog will eliminate vibrant color so photos will look more "flat". It sometimes helps to convert them to B&W and add some contrast.

The fog shots that I've taken that I like have been either right before sunrise so that most things are in silhouette and color is not so important anyway, or else backlit and almost overexposed to give a lighter feel to any silhouettes and items in the foreground.
