Reading and researching... makes me realize, I think, why the old owner of this camera decided to ditch it for a Nikon when he got bigger into digital photography... My DSC-F828 has nothing great out there for it, and now that I am more into photography than I was a year ago when I bought the camera (great camera btw!), I realize there is nothing for this thing... That brings me to the reason for this post... I am still learning about focal lengths and stuff, and found the site, www.raynox.com and they have these:

http://raynox.co.jp/english/digital/f828/index.htm

for my camera! I am looking at the DCR2020, its a 2.2X zoom lens... Wondering if this will be good enough to take photos from a distance and get nice detail and zoom. Does anyone use Raynox products? Are they decent? I fear that I am going to have to save my pennies and buy a D80 sooner than later :)

Thanks!

Ahh, that's what that crackerjack thing I saw some guy using the other day was. I hadn't seen the camera before, and the whacky fisheye attachment looked like something out of a japanese sci-fi. I half expected to be vaporized by it.

I've never used one. You don't have much choice if you want to alter the optics of your lens, but don't expect top optical quality from this kind of conversion lens. It may not be too bad though; the sample images look usable but the 2.2x has a lot of vignetting. The 1.54x looks a bit better and the fisheye looks decent compared to most of the screw-on fisheye attachments I've seen.
