Hello,

I was out x-country skiing this weekend, and it was pretty darn cold. I pulled my camera out, and the screen was extremely sluggish coming on. When I got home, and let the thing thaw out, the screen wouldn't come on, at all. I've tried it repeatedly, and still no luck. So, I'm wondering if anyone else has had this happen, and if so, what you did to fix it. Any info about where to have Olympus cameras fixed? Any info about where to find parts? I can fix the camera myself if I can find the parts. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Peter

Have you tried freshly recharged batteries.

Sometimes when batteries get cold they will give out and exp. if they have some age on them.

Yep, sadly the batteries were fresh, and I recharged them just to be safe.... no go. It's a real bummer, because I've taken excellent care of the camera. To have the screen go out is beyond disheartening.

Anyone with info about reputable repair centers, or places to get parts - the info would be greatly appreciated.

Check the manual or paperwork that came with the camera. It will show where Olympus has repair sites. Or go on the internet and type in Olympus USA. I had a control dial problem with mine that they fixed, no problem. I believe they have a base price for checking it out and they will email you an estimate before they do the work. If you're keeping the camera, give them a try.
