While I was out and about shooting the bridge, my wife took this shot of the sign just above the bridge... Kinda cute, not one you see everyday..

Yup. An anachronism. The question is this: Is this a genuine ordinance or did someone make the sign to be cute?

You have to go to the town hall with the picture and find out.

Packard... Think this sign could be for real.... very small villages here in Vermont, and strange, from the past ways of life... After all we still have town meetings once a year to vote on things ...
My wife, who took this pic is also the animal control officer in our area.. she was telling me that to this day, it is a $1.oo fine for your Mare to be loose from pasture, and a $ 500.00 fine for a stud to be loose...

Almost all covered bridges here have a horse related sign of some kind above them, so I got to say, This is for real!
