I drive by this place every day and I keep forgetting to grab my camera when I leave in the morning. But I grabbed it today, unfortunately I forgot my big boots so I couldn't get too close.
This bench faces south, overlooking the river. During the summer the trees give a nice shade in the late afternoon. There is also to gazebo in the background for other times of the day when the light in from the wrong direction for the bench.
Depending on the angle you use you can either get the trees/grass in the background, or use the river as a background. The gazebo would be okay once there's snow on the ground but the bench would be for summer shots only.

The format is correct. Although I would include a better set of directions on how to locate the place.
The location gets a "maybe" from me. Will there be distracting elements in the background? I cannot tell.
In any case, continue to collect these locations. Keep a file. When you want to go out and shoot some portraits, look through the file and sellect one that you like. You will have a good idea of the best time and the exact location. A file like this can be very valuable for portrait shooting.
Good job. |

distracting elements....hmmm
I had to take this shot from the side of the road, facing the highway, so you can see all the 'crap' in the background.
If I was using it for a portrait I would be closer and a slightly different angle so I don't think the highway/buildings above and behind the bench would be a factor. I'd have to check it out better to make sure. For the gazebo they wouldn't be a factor at all because I would shoot toward the river.
Forgot about directions...lol
It's right off the main highway through the village, just before the bridge over the river, you can't miss it.
I'm keeping my eyes open for other places as well. :) |

Good.
Before I set up a studio I did a lot of scouting.
Local, small museums were my favorite. There were often places indoors to shoot too. |
