First is great. Give an impression of time-lapse photography to me. I like the conversion too.
The second isn't doing too much for me. I'm having a hard time figuring out what's going on in the image. I'd like to see it without the wavy effect.

these are part of a personal project on nightmares and dreams.. they are printed through vaseline, wax paper, plastic wrap..or i use aggressive reticulation in film processing to produce cracking of the emulsion. These are darkroom prints, not photoshop although you can produce these effects in photoshop. they have been selenium toned and bleached with potasium feracyanid.
they are about the feeling of dreams and nightmares.
i appreciate the crit, however my black and white work is very rarely straight photography |

Interesting effects via darkroom. The scan quality is great if these are prints... mine never quite scan so nicely. Now that I know about the project the effects make more sense to me... is there a link anywhere to the whole series? I like the work so keep posting.

Thanks. i spent alot of time learning to scan. I did use levels and curves to adjust for any loss of contrast in the scan since the dynamic range of the scanner is not quite as high as a fiber print.
I have scanned the negs and tried the same effects in photoshop and, with alot of layers and alot of time its possible.
if you need some help getting good scans let me know, there are a few tweaks you need to make before pressing scan that go a long way to getting you the tonality you need. |
