I've skipped #10 because I still need to build that gobo.
This is my wife; I had to do a lot of begging and bribing to get her to pose for me. She is most definitely not the most cooperative model.

A lower canopy will produce a more directional light and will open up the eyes a bit more and make them more lively.

A higher point of view will probably make a nice image too.

What does your wife think of this shot?

Tell her I said she has excellent cheekbones, a good forehead and nice hair and a good straight nose--all good points for portraits.

(Really good cheekbones--especially nice in B & W).

Thanks Packard, I'll remember about a lower canopy and definitely use this lighting again.
My wife will not openly admit to liking the shot, but I’m sure she is secretly happy with it or she would never have given me permission to use it.
I think I'll do a B&W conversion and put it on my desk at the office.

Ask to her to let you shoot it again. You now have some pointers on improving the result. If she was reasonably happy with this, then she should go along.
