Just bought one of these and thought it was worth a mention.
The full spec can be found here http://www.intro2020.co.uk/pages/slik5.htm
It's tall but rock solid. I'm 5' 10" and can use it at full height without resorting to the centre column.
On the downside it's quite heavy.
In the UK it can be bought for £90 including delivery from Bristol Cameras which is incredible value. |

Hi John
I have just posted for tripod advice in a separate thread before I saw this....My camera etc. is quite heavy so I need something that has a decent support or load weight....it looks like the Slik 700DK pod can support 6.8kgs which will be enough but I have also seen loadings for some of the heads but not for others....any ideas on why some heads indicate max loads and other don't? I would think I need around a minimum of 5kgs for the 1D with 70-200IS and 2x TC...?
I will do some more reading, but if you have any comments/ideas that would be great! |
