Go to http://www.photobucket.com. They're free and it's easy to link your photos to forums.

Flickr only costs money if you want a pro account. Otherwise it's free.

hi! yeah, webshots is good. haven't tried photobucket though so i can't compare them. eSnips lets you upload photos and videos but i'm not sure if it's any better.

The problem with the free sites and free services is that the websites themselves are a dizzying array of pop ups and flashing banner ads - YUCK!

For $12 US per year you can have a 100MB account at this site:

www.photoshare.co.nz

And not deal with ANY ads whatsoever and have great photo hosting in the process. Come on - $12? You spend that much on burgers each week right!?!!

If your gonna pay the $12 you might as well pay the $24 from Flickr and get unlimited storage. 100MB will fill up fast!

I'm also using Flickr, I always resize my pix for uploading to the gallery so the 20MB/month bandwidth limit of the Flickr free account is more than enough for me.
Google recently introduced the Picasa Web Album which seems to have many good features. However, I haven't tried it yet.

I have a Flickr account - but don't really like the site nor the interface. Personal preference. Flickr was built for the masses - whereas PhotoShare was built around photographers and it has more of a 'club' feel to it.

Per the Flickr TOS - it states you have to post a link back to Flickr whenever you direct link to a photo URL. Does anyone know what that means or understand that? Or do it?

Does anyone know the monthly bandwidth resctrictions for direct linking to photos hosted on Flickr? Was curious about that as well.

It means that if you post a photo on another site you need to make it so that if you click on the photo it will bring you to the photo's page on Flickr. I do it because it's in the user agreement that I agreed to.

So the photo can be direct linked - but the photo itself needs to be one large clickable link back to that photos page on Flickr? Sounds like a pain. Any ideas on the direct linking bandwidth for Flickr..........?

There's no bandwidth limit. You just need to have it link back.

I use www.fotki.com the free service is so-so with no direct linking, but for $30/year I have unlimited space, direct linking, features galore. I am at 2gigs, my wife is way way way past that.
