This assignment is similar to the last, but you are to look for design in nature. That could be flora or fauna, or stone or mountains. You should look to create the illusion of 3 dimensions.

Also, note that many man made designs are said to be "organic" meaning that the design has some flowing line.

Try to imagine a man made object that is mimicked in the natural one.

For instance, a champagne glass' arc might resemble the shape of a tulip; the roof line of a car might resemble the arc of a vine.

The most beautiful shapes we see, for instance S-Curves or Teardrops are first seen in nature. We appreciate it in industrial and commercial design because we recognize it in nature.

Look for the portions of nature that presage the man made designs and photograph it with a sense of 3 dimensions.

Tough assignment. Get to it. Post it one the 1st of June or later.

Welcome Preet.

It's pretty basic really. Packard comes up with an assignment on the 1st and the 15th of every month. You shoot a pic of your interpretation of the assignment, post it in this section as you see everyone else has. Packard and others stop by and gives you some hints and suggestions on how to improve your shot.

All in all this is meant to improve your shooting skills and give you a better eye for angles, lighting and subject matter. The past two assignments I think is meant to force you to look at things a little more closely than you would normally.

Most importantly I think is to have fun with it. Good luck and have fun.

You don't have to wait for the next assignment. You will learn a lot from doing the previous assignments and submitting them for suggestions and critique. Just indicate the assignment number in your subject line.
I've learned a lot from participating and I'm sure you will too.
