Expanding on what you've learned from the subtractive lighting assignment, we will be using the same technique but looking instead for naturally occurring light blockers (canopies).
These "canopies" are everywhere if you take the time to look.
The most obvious is a gazebo, but also low roof over hangs, wide brimmed hats, low overhanging tree limbs (with leaves), etc.
For this assignment look for naturally appearing light blockers. You can use this technique all throughout the day. Just make sure that there is no direct light hitting the subject and you are golden.
No assistants or gobos required. |
