I finally got around to ordering the Eclipse and Sensor Swabs to do the deed.

For those who are interested - the entire process was pretty easy and not at all like the brain surgery that it is sometimes made out to be.

However, while the Type 2 Sensor Swabs are billed as being for the D70/D2X type cameras, it does not fit into the sensor as shown in the Copperhill ( http://www.pbase.com/copperhill/image/11013788 ) photographs. You have to sweep along the short (landscape) axis instead of the long (portrait) axis.

Two drops, two swipes, done. Not a big deal. However, it removed two pieces of dust that were driving me insane.
