Wasnt there a thread about this already? Oh well doesnt matter.......Im just pissed that they are hiking the price of the new lens because of the VR and the discontinueing the old non VR lens........why do they do that?
What if I dont want VR and dont want to pay the extra for something I dont want? |

Buy a decent s/hand lens?
At the end of the day, continuing development gives us ultimately more choice and (probably more importantly) drives prices down in an ever competetive market and that's a good thing and what helped me buy the D50, when 4 years ago I coun't have afforded a DSLR

I haven't been there since the early '90's but the savings were not huge at that time. Best bet is to get pricing from places like B&H, Adorama, etc. and then compare when you get there. If it is the same or close you may want to get it here so you have full warrenty in the states. |

from what I hear Japan is pretty expencive for most things so the saving for the fact the stuff is made there probably cancels out with Japan being generally expencive. |

Probably not too much but there may be a few that come up on the used market. Most will probably be in pretty good shape and worth checking out. |

Im sorry, I may have misunderstood the sales girl. Is Nikkor still keeping the non VR 105 in there line up or are they discontinuing it?

Well all the stores around me have either kept the price the same or dropped the price by a hundred (I think) |
