Hi,
This thing is driving me crazy and I am not able to decide anything.
I want a good 4.1/4 mega pixel cam..
I liked 2 models..
Sony S60 & Nikon Coolpix 4600
Now I am totally confused which one to go with because I enquired about it with 2 vendors..
1st said nikon is good and stay away from sony because when you give pics for print, the quality is not as good as nikon and picture quality is also not very good
2nd vendor said, there is no difference between both except after sales service, nikon's after sales service is good where sony isnt that good...
I checked http://www.steves-digicams.com but there is nothing like bad print quality in sony or anything mentioned on their site...
They have rated both the cams as very good but said that nikon doenst have sound in video shoot..
So now I do not know which one to go for, anyone can help me? thanks

Here's some links to reviews for both. I bought the Sony DSC-S60 and I am extremely please with it. I found the menus were easier (for me) than the Nikon's and the Sony did longer exposures (much longer). The 4600 only does 4 seconds. I've had very good luck with my Sony and have no complaints. I use all of it's feature to include all Manual Settings and the Mpeg Movies. Works great in comparison to my old camera. LOL
The links below also have sample images from both cameras. Good Luck on whichever you choose.

I thought about addressing that earlier and then I intentionally drew a blank. :-) The only photos I've had printed where wallet size up to 4"x6" at Walgreens or Walmart, on those do-it-yourself machines and they turned out perfectly fine. I very rarely have photos printed. I've only had the camera about 3 months, not enough time to take a photo worthy of printing in a larger size. But no, no printing problems to note, unless your referring to "direct camera to printer features" of which I haven't a clue. I copy the photos to a computer "in jpeg format", then I work them over in a graphics program and the take them to be printed. (for those which I have printed, which are few).
As far as Sony service, can't say. I haven't broke the camera . . . yet. ;-)
I have used the camera thoroughly over the last 3 months, having taken nearly 7000 photos.
Hope all this is helpful. |
