PHOTOGRAPH POSTING POLICIES
PhotoTakers.Com is dedicated to developing and maintaining a friendly online photography community, where all member are able to participate in various photography discussions. PhotoTakers.com rules and policies are the basis for creating a comfortable and friendly environment for all of our members.
Please do not post messages at phototakers.com if you are unable to adhere to our policies.
Repeated violators of our rules will be permanently banned from our forum.
1. A maximum of 2 images totaling 200KB per Thread are allowed. Please do not submit more than two photos for each thread which you start. The combined file sizes must not exceed a total 200KB. For example you could post 2 X 100KB images or you may want to limit yourself to 1 image of up to, but not exceeding, 200KB. There are a lot of users who are still using 56k modems to access the internet and exceeding the above limit would be detrimental to the usability of the forum.
2. Please limit your postings to two or three separate new threads only. Starting to many threads in a photo sharing forum causes other members photos to move to the bottom of the listings and causes your own photos to receive less exposure. Members who open more than three threads within a photo sharing forum will have their threads automatically deleted by the admin.
3. All images should not exceed a maximum width of 800 pixels and a maximum height of 600 pixels.
4. Please do not post any nude or derogatory photographs. We may have children who are under age entering these forums. All images which violates this rule will be automatically deleted without warning.
5. Please do not submit links for users to click on, your photograph should open up within the post submitted. If you post a link then your post will be automatically moved to the Website Promotion forum.
6. Please do not submit links to your photo galleries, if you would like us to view other photographs in your portfolio please post each photograph in a separate post. Links to photo galleries will be automatically moved to the Website Promotion forum.
7. Please do not post photographs with copyright notices in the middle of the photograph. If your photographs require a copyright notice the notice should be located in the lower right or left hand corner of the photograph. If you are concerned about the theft of your photographs we would prefer that you do not submit your photographs in our forums.
8. Once warned by a moderator it is your responsibility to immediately modify your posting to conform with our posting guidelines. Failure to modify your posting will result in your posting being deleted my the forum administrator.
HOW TO POST A PHOTOGRAPH
1. Your photo should be located somewhere on the internet. There are many image hosting services available for storing your photographs online.
2. Right click on the photo which you would like to share and click on the properties menu selection. Copy the address value in the properties window.
3. Please ensure that your host site allows direct linking to images, otherwise your photo will not display in the forums.
4. You must create a new post under the relevant forum & in the body of the post you will paste the url where your picture is located.
5. Click the Img button and paste the url of your picture after the img tag.
Next click the img button again to close the image tag. Or, highlight the entire image url, then click the Img tag.
6. Your entry will look something like the following.
[img]your url will go here[/img]
7. Submit your post and then check to make sure your photo shows up in the post. |
