I wouldn't feel comfortable posting an image because anyone could right click on it and save it.
If you saw my images, you'd probably think "who cares if they save his images?"
I guess I'm thinking like a greedy photographer. How can I snap out of this way of thinking? |

Yes those are the risks you take by sharing your photography online. But think of it this way, what kinda quality are they gonna get out of a 700x800 pixel picture? |

Well one way to think about it is to consider that by publishing here first, you're establishing ownership of sorts.
In a dispute over who a photo belongs to, your image here, plus your original file, would actually help to prove a case of copyright infringement.
And let's be honest here. If people like Tuna, Shelia Smart, Shawn Lowe, ChrisL, and so many other agonizingly talent photogs here have no problem posting images, why shouldn't anyone?
But still, if you believe that your works must be kept safely away from public viewing due to risk of theft, then by all means do not post them. |

I agree with both of the above posters, and in addition, in the short while I've been here, I have really started to learn to think with a whole new perspective.
If these very generous people weren't willing to share their work here by letting us see it and comment (as well as making suggestions and comments on our own work), we'd be losing out on a really valuable learning experience that we couldn't get anywhere else but on the internet.
Of course, the choice is always yours, whether to post your work or not.

What good is a photograph that can't be seen? Kept on your harddrive, they're nothing but magnetic 1's and 0's.
Yes, copying is a risk, but as others have pointed out, nobody's going to be able to do much with an image that is only 800 pixels wide. It's too small to print at a decent quality, no publication will look at it. At worst, someone might use it for their computer wallpaper.
But, the choice is yours. |

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE ADVICE
I'd say you're all right about the topic.
I'll start showing an image right now....Thanks for the push.

You could always watermark your images aswell even though it detracts from the overall look! but it'd put anyone off wanting to steal it. Eitherway i think the likelyhood of someone stealing your pictures is pretty low. |

I thought about watermarks, but knew it would make the pictures look bad. I'll just post small versions of my images.
People couldn't make a decent 4x6 print out of them.
So now, do I just post a picture in a new post and wait to hear what people think about it? |
