Adapting a new tripod base socket
Using a number of tripods for my S3, the cheapo plasitc tripod socket that Canon installs on the camera was getting loose and unsafe. I decided to undertake a project to work around this handicap and build a secure and solid baseplate.

It was not a difficult project, nor did it take long. But I do hope it solves my ever increasingly wobbly socket situation. |

I had to redo the project, as the small bracket started to become loose. So I just drilled out the damned plastic socket and replaced it with a brass one.
It is totally solid now, and I'm glad I did it!
