So, I'm shooting with a Canon 30d and I'm looking for a really decent wide angel fisheye lense. and I will spend $500-$600 but looking for highest quality for less than that.
Mostly for concerts/abstract work.
I've been recommended a Canon 15mm. by a professional I used to work for, but I would like other opinions as well.. Also I would prefer CANON, but if someone recommended a sigma or tamron that really was quality I wouldn't take that out of consideration.
thank you for the advice in advance! |

Does it have to be fisheye? If so, I'd look at the Tokina fisheye zoom (10-17mm, I think). If you want a rectilinear lens without the fisheye distortion, look into the tokina 12-24mm f/4. They're both good lenses.
About $500 for the 12-24mm ultrawide rectilinear. I think it's about the same for the 10-17mm fisheye.
Canon has a 10-22mm USM that's nice but more expensive than the tokina (and not really any better).
I'd forget the Canon 15mm fisheye. It's a full frame 35mm lens, won't give you much of a fisheye effect on your 30D. |
